According to the W.H.O. (World Health Organization), water security affects approximately 40% of people on the planet.  What we take for granted in the United States, others around the world are desperate for.  So desperate that women and children will spend an average of six hours procuring water in developing countries (W.H.O.).

The Problem:

Use the Sawyer™ filter to provide families with safe drinking water.  Our goal is to install the filters free of charge to those who are in desperate need.  We will install the cost effective, sustainable, filters in homes, schools, orphanages, churches, and medical clinics in developing countries.  By using the same filter technology found in kidney dialysis machines, the filters remove 99.99% of bacteria and protozoa.  With proper care, the filter never needs replaced and requires no electricity or other fuel source.  This means that once a filter is attached to a simple 5-gallon bucket, whoever drinks from that bucket has a safe source of water for decades!

  • 2 billion people do not have access to safe drinking water.
  • 2.2 million people die annually from diseases associated with unsafe drinking water.
  • It's estimated that as much as 80% of diseases in developing countries are caused by contaminated water.
  • Diarrhea kills more children every year than AIDS, malaria and measles combined.
  • Nearly 1 out of every 5 deaths under the age of 5 worldwide is due to a water-related disease.
  • Every 20 seconds a child dies from a water-borne illness.  That's over 4000 per day!
